Voice activated search in Time Square

November 26th, 2009

This is pretty impressive. Giant interactive billboards in Time Square displaying voice-activated search results on Google maps.

To promote the location-based voice-activated search on their new phones, Verizon partnered up with R/GA, Google and Reuters to place these interactive billboards in Time Square. Anyone can call the toll-free number to say what they’re looking for. The billboards display a Google map showing you where to find it.

It’s based on Google’s search by voice technology. R/GA collaborated with Google to create a perfect demonstration of the phone’s built-in search function. Read a bit more about it at R/GA or the Google Mobile Blog.
